Smithfield Street Bridge, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
Pittsburgh (aka the Steel City) is also known for being headquarters of the Heinz Company and recently was set of the movie Adventureland. My list of must things to do over: to watch the Stealers with a terrible towel in the Heinz Field, take one of the inclines to the top of Mount Washington for a great view of the city, shopping and bar-hopping in the South Side and the Andy Warhol Museum.

After the contract…

I decided to take a month trip to the US and I had saved enough money so I could travel comfortably. Places: Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cedar Point, Philadelphia and NY. Driving… :-S To be honest with you, the road trip idea sounds really fun, but when u actually go for it, it can be a pain… I had an American friend with me, so he did all the job about where to go and what to do. Niceeeeeeee! It was a really good experience to travel with someone who knows about the places. I’m gonna post some pictures of this trip now.

Mayan Ruins of Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico
It’s a 2-hour drive from Cancun and located on top of a cliff with a stunning view of the ocean. Just beautiful! Around this main building, there are several other small structures and going there is a great way to learn about this civilization.

Atlantis Hotel & Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas.
Nassau is a place full of cruise ships and Americans. If you don’t like one of them, just don’t go. The beaches are nice but watch the jellyfishes since I was burned by one and got peed on. NOT fun! The Atlantis Hotel is a sight itself and has a gigantic aquarium that is worth to take a look.

Carnival Fascination, April 2006, Miami, FL, USA.
They made everything easier. My 3 Brazilian “paisanos”.
And they also made everything harder when we split to go to different ships from the fleet.

Where things started.
I was working in a hotel in Sao Paulo, Brazil (where I’m from btw, nice to meet you. ;-) for about 3 years. It was a good job, but I was 21 and bored with my life. Already. I applied and there I was. It was scary at first, leaving my job, friends and family behind, but it was something I needed to do.
When you do something… life changing I’d say, it’s funny how you think you’ll “find yourself” or “figure out” or whatever. But you don’t really. I don’t mean that you don’t learn things. Cos’ I learned a hell lot.
The itinerary was a bit boring (but hey, I haven’t been to those places) and the working hours were long. But I was up for it. Miami (US), Key West (US), Nassau (Bahamas), Cozumel (Mexico), Playa del Carmen (Mexico) for like 8 months.
And I don’t regret this in anyway.

In America there are two classes of travel - first class, and with children.

So true… But I’d say that this is worldwide…
